The
Electronics Industry
The
electronics business encompasses all manner of appliances
such as fridges, televisions, computers that we have
in the home and the workplace. Life today would be unimaginable
without the electronics business and the goods that
it provides. Without all the electric appliances that
we have in our homes life as we know it would grind
to a halt.
The electronics industry invests billions of dollars
every year in researching new technologies to cater
to the demand for new and innovative products. In recent
years for example there have been huge developments
in the field of televisions. The old cathode ray technology
has been superseded first by plasma televisions and
more recently by flat screen LCD televisions. Computers
and laptops are another example of this. Every year
computers become more powerful and able to perform more
functions than ever before. Laptops become smaller and
more powerful. Another example of this is mobile phones.
Remember the mobile phones of the 1980’s they
are unrecognizable from modern mobile phones which are
able to access the internet, take pictures and play
music.
By continually researching and creating new technologies
the electronics industry ensures a healthy market for
itself. With a constant stream of new and updated goods
to replace the old generation the electronics industry
creates its own demand. Products such as the I-Pod have
been a huge success in recent years replacing the old
generation of Walkmans and personal cd players.
